How much do landscape improvements cost?

The short answer is somewhere between $10,000 and $1,000,000 or more. Like any construction project, the cost depends on a wide range of factors and the upper limit can be as high as a client desires. That being said, the cost range for most projects can be estimated with a reasonable degree of accuracy.

Here is a simple tool for homeowners to quickly get a sense of the potential cost range for your project. These cost ranges are based on our 14+ years of experience with residential landscape renovations in Vancouver, and are very rough approximations which may not apply to your specific project. Prices are impacted by a wide range of factors, and we always recommend scheduling a consultation for specific information on your project.

• SMALL:   A half-lot, front garden or back garden only, or a small lot (ex. townhouse).

• AVERAGE:   A typical city lot. In Vancouver, this is 33’ x 122’, or around 4,026 sq.ft.
• LARGE:   A corner lot, double lot, or other large area. A lot that is steeply sloped or otherwise complicated.

• SIMPLE:   Cosmetic improvements, repairs and planting. May include replacement of simple patio or deck.
• AVERAGE:   Complete garden renovation, including new paved areas and planting. May include one or two additional features (ex. pergola, deck, fire pit), fencing, basic landscape lighting and irrigation. 
• COMPLEX:   Extensive or highly detailed work. Any project that includes a pool or several additional features (hot-tub, outdoor kitchen, water & fire features, sauna), highly customized work and use of expensive materials and fixtures.
